In 2023, Te Kahu o Taonui launched a housing technical table for Te Tai Tokerau, bringing together a small group of technical specialists to support housing projects at any stage. The technical table included consenting, architectural, civil engineering, finance and project management expertise, and metregularly to consider enquiries.

 

The technical table approach is an innovation which brings housing specialists together to enable parties interested in housing and papakāinga development to access professional advice, receive guidance and support about their project. During our tenure, we provided support in navigating the major funding and support streams currently available [these resources are usually contestable].

This project was funded through Ministry of Housing and Urban Development funding associated with the MAIHI Ka Ora National Māori Housing Strategy.
